在静力触探中，用一种可靠的无线缆系统取代笨拙的测量电缆已经实现，OPTOCONE光学无线静力触探模块中包括一个适配件，用来连接电测式探头的顶部，与常用的螺纹适配器非常相似。适配器包括所有的用于6个土壤参数的光学数据传输电路和一个用于备份数据的非易失存储器。数据扫描为每秒5次，并把数据通过CPT探杆中的光学传感器传输到安装在CPT系统横梁的照相系统中。当安装探杆时，光学传感器无需连接，只需定位于彼此的顶部。数据转换系统把数据传输到数据采集系统中，数据立即存储并显示在屏幕上。通过光学发射器，命令也可以从数据采集系统发送到探头中。
